MAGIF CENTER
The life of girls with Covid 19
Like all Liberians, the girls at the MAGIF CENTER are suffering from the pandemic. They miss their normal lives, especially going to school.
But they make the best of it. Thanks to the good care they receive, they get through the exceptional situation relatively well. They can play interesting games and visit the playground on the adjacent school grounds, and there are even little highlights that bring colour and joy into their everyday lives, such as a birthday party and great arts and crafts activities organised by the social workers.
MAGIF CENTER
The EBOLA epidemic 2014/2015 in Liberia determined the lives of the population. There was need and suffering, 4,000 children became orphans.
The team of the GERLIB HEALTH CENTER with Margret Gieraths-Nimene were active during the EBOLA crisis. Based on her knowledge of the situation of the children in the country and her experiences during the EBOLA epidemic, Margret Gieraths-Nimene decided to found a home for EBOLA orphans. This decision was facilitated by the offer of the German organisation "BILD hilft e.V. Ein Herz für Kinder" to financially support the construction of the building. The facility and the program are registered under the patronage of the Margret Gieraths-Nimene Foundation (MAGIF).
MAGIF Inc. works closely with the Ministry of Health & Social Welfare and the Ministry of Gender, Children & Social Protection. Financial support is not granted.

Leisure weekend
On 30 April, ten of the students sponsored by the NGO ‘From Sreet to School’ and three of the girls from the MAGIF Centre took part in a weekend camp sponsored by ‘From Sreet to School’. The purpose of the camp was to teach skills in tie-dyeing and various techniques for making jewellery and clothing. The camp was held on the grounds of the Catholic Crab in Buradsville, Montserrado. The children enjoyed the camp, it helps them interact with other children from different parts of Montserrado County and learn some new skills that will benefit MAGIF Community School.
The Girls
The girls at the Magif Centre are doing well. They live together like sisters. They go to school or to the Magif Community School.
They also paint and write in their free time. The girls are hungry for education and proud of their skills.
But there is also time to learn to swim and enjoy your free time.
Everyday life is interesting and varied.
The girls are encouraged and allowed to gain a variety of experiences.
