In 2009, the GERLIB COMMUNITY CENTER, now MAGIF COMMUNITY SCHOOL, was built in a rented residential building that is still in use today.
This was made possible by financing the non-governmental organisation "Take the children from the Road", Verl, personal friends and the German Embassy in Monrovia. On 14 November 2009, the playground was inaugurated by the German ambassador, Ilse Lindemann-Macha.
The team of the GERLIB COMMUNITY CENTER has started the Early Childhood Program. A registration at the Ministry of Education took place and thus a change of name took place and is now called MAGIF (Margret Gieraths-Nimene Foundation) COMMUNITY SCHOOL.
The project is financed by friends and sponsors of the association Liberia e.V., Essen.
It's a real pleasure how beautiful the new house has become.
Many children visit the new MAGIF COMMUNITY SCHOOL
Classes began on 16 September and to date 83 children from Zubah Town and surrounding communities have registered. Everyone receives a hot meal every day, financed by Welthungerhilfe.
The rooms are large and bright, there is a solar system on the roof and there is also a generator for electricity.
Even the playground has been finished so that the children can play on the site.
